1. In 2023, NHF solicited our members and others to send emails to Congress to support appropriations riders to defund threats to good health, like the Food and Drug Administration’s guidance subjecting homeopathic remedies to ruinous, drug-like approval requirements before being sold to patients. This guidance survived a court challenge this past Summer and needs a legislative corrective, or all-natural healing modalities (not just homeopathic) may receive smothering regulation from the FDA. Homeopathy, the mainstream school of healing before pHARMa’s takeover a century ago, uses natural substances to elicit the body’s natural immunity instead of allopathic interventions to suppress enzymatic symptoms that can trigger toxic side effects. Among other things, homeopathy is popular for allergies, arthritis, and pain – each a billion-dollar industry.  Ms. Scheible will discuss her efforts with Congress and RFK, Jr’s HHS and how we can help. The Homeopathic Medicine PAC works in tandem with Americans for Homeopathy Choice Action in support of the same legislative solution to the FDA’s overreach.
2. FDA’s attack on compounding – especially that using natural ingredients –  operates similarly to its persecution of homeopathy. Mass-produced prescriptions can contain ingredients that prove allergenic for some patients, some of whom can’t tolerate the delivery mechanism of the drug. Compounding can solve these problems with personalized formulas, and different delivery methods (such as sublingual instead of a pill). In 2016, the FDA outlawed compounding with natural ingredients such as Coenzyme Q10, ginger root powder, ginkgo biloba, and colloidal silver, among countless others. Three years later Congressman Griffiths introduced a bill to protect some natural ingredients and compounding practices. Mr. Boehmer will explain why it’s hard to find these specialized practitioners and represents a long-term challenge for patients who want superior alternatives. We urge the sending of NHF’s email to oppose FDA guidance limitations on both homeopathy and natural compounding.
