Many Codex Alimentarius Meetings Cancelled Due to COVID-19 Fears
So far this year, the COVID-19 pandemic has created scheduling and rescheduling challenges for the Codex Alimentarius Commission. The first cancellations were two meetings in China: the Codex Committee on Food Additives (CCFA) and the Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues (CCPR), both of which NHF has attended in the past with great successes.
The earliest meetings still remaining on the FAO website are for the July 2020 Codex Alimentarius Commission meeting. All others prior to that date have been cancelled or postponed. For this reason, the NHF will not be attending this year the Codex Committee on General Principles, Codex Committee on Contaminants in Foods, and Codex Committee on Residues of Veterinary Drugs in Foods meetings. We will, however, have more time to prepare for vital meetings such as CCRVDF25 (the 25th session of the Codex Committee on Residues of Veterinary Drugs in Foods), where NHF will argue once again to stop the Zilpaterol veterinary-drug standard from advancing.
The CCRVDF is just one of many international Codex Committee meetings at which NHF – the only health-freedom organization with a seat at Codex – actively participates and represents you. This seat allows our active participation in shaping global policy on behalf of 7.5 billion people on the Planet.
