Bananas Might Be Blocking Your Smoothie’s Benefits Researchers at the University of California, Davis have found that adding bananas to smoothies significantly reduces the body's absorption of flavanols as well as heart- and brain-healthy compounds found in foods like berries, grapes, and cocoa.
